Is It Safe to Invest Your Money Here?

Mintos operates as an authorized Investment Firm regulated by the Central Bank of Latvia (Latvijas Banka). Investors' uninvested funds are protected by the Latvian investor compensation scheme up to a maximum of €20,000.

Mintos is a global platform connecting retail investors with non-bank financial institutions (originators) that issue loans worldwide.

Investment Mechanics on Mintos When you invest in Mintos, you purchase regulated securities called "Notes." Each Note represents a bundle of consumer or business loans. Yields are generated monthly as borrowers repay their principal and interest installments.

The Buyback Obligation Concept The vast majority of Notes feature a buyback obligation that requires the originator to return your invested principal and accrued interest if a borrower is more than 60 days late on payments. However, if the originator itself goes bankrupt, this guarantee can be compromised.

Fees & Costs Mintos stands out as a highly cost-efficient platform for retail investors, as there are zero fees for registering, depositing funds, or using the core investment features.

1. **Auto-Invest & Primary Market:** Completely free. There are no fees or hidden commissions when investing manually or via automated strategies on the primary market.

2. **Secondary Market Transactions:** Selling your investments on the secondary market to gain instant liquidity carries a **0.85% fee** on the transacted value. Buying on the secondary market remains 100% free.

3. **Currency Conversion:** If you choose to invest in loans denominated in currencies other than Euros (e.g., USD, PLN, or HUF), Mintos charges a **0.5% currency conversion spread**.

4. **Withdrawal Fees:** Standard EUR cash-outs via SEPA bank transfers are entirely free of charge. There are no maintenance fees or inactive account fees, making Mintos highly flexible for passive compounding.
